For over fifty years, Stroud Squash Club has been at the heart of the local squash community. Founded in November 1972 by a group of enthusiasts at Stroud Rugby Club, it grew from a grassroots idea — two courts at Fromehall Park — into a thriving hub for players of every level.
Despite the closure of other local clubs over the years, we continue to thrive, offering recreational, social and competitive squash for men, women, juniors and children. Our teams have a proud record in the Gloucestershire leagues and have regularly supplied players to the county sides.
In 2021 we moved to Wycliffe College, renowned for producing nationally and internationally successful players. Our home now has three glass-backed courts and a friendly atmosphere for new and returning members alike. Coaching is available for every level, from first-timers to seasoned match players.
Our roots in community and camaraderie run deep: the very first item on the inaugural agenda in 1972 was organising the bar rota. We still pride ourselves on great value and a vibrant, inclusive club.
Whether you want a gentle knock-about, a place in a league team or just a social Monday night, there's a spot for you here.
